I've had the privilege of photographing at a number of wedding venues in my home county of Surrey. One thing for certain is that we really are spoilt for choice in Surrey when it comes to top class wedding venues. There are some fabulous and unusual venues from grand stately country houses, cosy beamed barns to lush green gardens! Here are my top 5 Surrey wedding venues I have shot at and my first ever blog post!

Enjoy!

1.RHS Garden Wisley, Surrey

RHS Garden Wisley has it all when it comes to your wedding day. If you’re looking for a beautiful backdrop for your big day, the glorious botanical gardens and iconic glasshouse at Wisley or the grand Stately House could be your perfect setting. With so many different locations and backdrops to shoot from this really is a photographers dream wedding location. Wooden bridges over lakes, rustic walled gardens, the Loggia looking back to the house, the rose gardens , the rock gardens, the list is endless. That’s why it comes in at number one of my top 5 Surrey Wedding Venues.

2.Great Fosters, Egham, Surrey

Great Fosters is right on my doorstep in Egham, Surrey. Great Fosters is a former Royal Hunting Lodge and is a stunning country house. From the Moment you arrive and duck down to walk through a small door and you know your wedding adventure has begun . The amazing smell of wood burning on the open fire before you work your way through dark wood paneled corridors hung with tapestries and works of art, to the elegant 14th Century Tithe Barn or the charming Glass Orangery. The gardens are beautifully landscaped with mini mazes, Saxon moats and old wooden bridges all making a wonderful backdrop for your wedding day photos. That’s why it comes in at number two of my top 5 Surrey Wedding Venues.

3.Botleys Mansion, Chertsey, Surrey

Surrey stately home grandeur at its Best. 18th century Botleys Mansion means you can have your very own big mansion for your special day. From the moment your arrive and drive down the long sweeping drive and arrive at the double staircase entrance, Botleys Mansion is a statement wedding venue with dramatic interiors and beautiful grounds. It has an amazing glass conservatory to host your wedding breakfast after your ceremony in the Green Room. A grand Staircase, grand piano, marble floors and rolling gardens make this the ostentatious Surrey wedding venue of choice and that’s why it comes in at number three of my top 5 Surrey Wedding Venues.

4.Pennyhill Park, Bagshot, Surrey

The home of English Rugby, well at least the team’s training base that is!

Hidden in 123 acres of beautiful woodland and parkland in Surrey this delicately ivy clad, 19th century Mansion House surrounded by elegant garden terraces, formal lawns and flower beds is a stunning wedding venue. How would you feel about being able to have a relaxing spa session, the day or night before your wedding? A yummy afternoon tea? 5. Farnham Castle, Farnham, Surrey

Who doesn’t want to get married in a castle? Rich in history and oozing sophistication and style, it’s no surprise that Farnham Castle is considered one of the most enchanting wedding venues in Surrey. The iconic Gatehouse, the atmospheric Lantern Hall, The Norman Chapel and The Bishop’s Chapel all add to a truly Elegant venue.
